Cookies and browser storage

Cookie policy.

This page lists the browser storage used directly by Korean Food Guide and explains how Google advertising technologies may be used.

Cookies are small text records saved by a website or service in a browser. Local storage can keep a value after the browser closes, while session storage normally lasts only for the current browser tab or session. Advertising tags may also use pixels, device identifiers, or similar technologies.

NameTypePurposeTypical duration
kfg_langFirst-party cookieRemembers a visitor's chosen language edition. It contains only the language code.Up to 1 year
__site_analytics_visitorLocal storageRandom identifier used to estimate unique readership. The identifier is hashed before database storage.Until browser storage is cleared

The site analytics tracker is skipped when the browser sends a recognized Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal and is disabled for visitors detected in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland. Identifier-level analytics events are deleted by a daily retention job after 90 days.

Pages that contain the Google AdSense tag may allow Google and participating advertising partners to set or read cookies and similar identifiers. These technologies can be used to deliver and render ads, limit repetition, detect fraud, measure effectiveness, remember privacy choices, and—when permitted—personalize ads. Cookie names, providers, and durations can change according to region, browser, consent choice, and the providers selected in AdSense.

Google documents common advertising cookies and their lifetimes in How Google uses cookies. Google may use domains including google.com, doubleclick.net, googlesyndication.com, and googleadservices.com.

The privacy and cookie policy pages themselves do not load the AdSense tag or the site's analytics tracker, so visitors can read these disclosures without first triggering those scripts.

  • Where required, use the Google-certified consent message shown on the site to refuse, consent, manage vendors and purposes, or later revoke a choice.
  • Manage Google ad personalization through My Ad Center.
  • Use the browser's privacy settings to inspect, delete, or block cookies, local storage, and session storage.
  • Enable Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track to prevent the site's custom analytics tracker from starting.

Blocking all storage may cause the site to forget the selected language and may limit advertising or other features. Non-personalized ads can still require consent for cookies in regions where the law requires it.

For the categories of information processed, retention, recipients, and privacy rights, read the Privacy Policy. Questions and requests can be sent through the contact form.
