About the guide

Making Korean food easier to meet—and harder to misunderstand.

Korean Food Guide is an independent multilingual editorial resource for people discovering hansik. It introduces dishes, ingredients, regions, and table customs with enough context to help a first-time diner feel welcome.

Our mission

We translate culinary context, not just dish names. That means pairing English with Hangul and pronunciation, distinguishing heat from overall flavor, noting common dietary considerations, and explaining why shared dishes matter at a Korean table.

What readers can expect

Original guide library

Our English guide library contains 13 independently structured, long-form articles covering Korean meal structure, pantry ingredients, kimchi, barbecue, bibimbap, soups and stews, noodles and rice cakes, street food, regional traditions, menu terminology, restaurant ordering, vegetarian dining, and allergen questions.

Each guide provides a direct answer, full explanatory sections, Korean terms, practical limits, a visible review date, and source notes linked to institutional references. Browse all Korean food guides

An ongoing food journal

The Korean Food Journal publishes shorter, focused stories about ingredients, seasons, cooking language, and living traditions. New published entries appear automatically on the journal index, English homepage, RSS feed, and XML sitemap.

Draft and future-dated entries stay outside the public site until release. Published stories follow the same visible-source and correction standards as our long-form guides. Visit the Korean Food Journal

Scope and limits

This site is a cultural and dining guide, not medical or allergy advice. Recipes and restaurant practices vary. Readers with allergies or strict dietary requirements should confirm ingredients directly with a cook, manufacturer, or restaurant.

Editorial identity

Pages are published by the Korean Food Guide Editorial Desk. The organizational byline avoids inventing personal credentials and makes responsibility for sourcing, revision, and corrections explicit.
